Prima Ballerina Tutorials

Below, you’ll find everything you need to tie each bow in this set.

  • To start, go ahead and open up the en pointe bow contents and lay out all of the pieces.

You should have one long pink satin ribbon, one heart embellishment, and one alligator clip.

To start, make an L with your left hand, palm facing away from you. Pick up the ribbon and hold it with your left hand pinky, ring, and middle fingers like so. There should be about 14 inches of fabric at the end.

Next you are going to wrap the ribbon over your thumb and behind your index finger, like so.

Continue this motion three more times, so you end up with three loops on your thumb and two loops on your index finger.

When you are wrapping the ribbon around your fingers, try to keep your hands as wide as possible.

Now, take the remaining ribbon and lift it up, over and under back through the bottom hole.

Once you’ve threaded the tail back through, flip your hand over so your palm is now facing you. Take the tail and lift it up, over and through this middle piece. Make sure you enter the loop going left to right.

After you’ve threaded the tail through, flip your hand back over, and pull the knot tight by pulling down to your left.

From here, you can make some small adjustments to the loops to get the exact shape you want.

You should have two loops on either side of the bow and the tails should be about equal length.

If the tails are not equal length, try adjusting how much excess fabric you use at the start.

If the bow loops are lopsided, you can gently pull on them to make them even.

Now looking at your bow, determine which side looks the best. Usually there is a good side and bad side.

Once you’ve determined which side you like best, lay the bow with the bad side down.

It’s time to attach your heart shaped gem. There are many ways you can attach the gem, but I like to put it right in the middle like so.

Make sure you push the gem tightly against the ribbon to secure it.

    Now grab your alligator clip.

Peel the backing off the adhesive and add the clip to the backside of your bow. Make sure you push hard to secure the clip.

Fun feature: the velcro clip can be removed and flipped around so you can wear it on either side of your head.

And there you have it! You've crafted your very own en pointe bow!

  • To start, go ahead and open up the lacy, oh lacy bow contents and lay out all of the pieces.

You should have 1 piece of white lace ribbon, 1 velcro strip, 1 white lace centerpiece, 1 circular embellishment, and 1 alligator clip.

To start, find your long piece of white lace ribbon and lay it on the table in an upside-down U, like so.

The sides of the U should be equal lengths.

Then take both sides and cross them. They should cross about half way up the ribbon, but you can adjust this distance based on how large you want the loops to be. Crossing higher up will make the loops smaller, whereas crossing farther down will make the loops larger.

Now take the center of this top loop and bring it down to meet the crossed section.

    Scrunch these two parts together.

Now find the strip of velcro.

While holding the scrunched part together, wrap the velcro around the center, putting the hard velcro side down first and wrapping the soft side to meet it.

If you want to adjust the loop sizes, this is the time to do it. Just remove the velcro and start over, crossing the ribbon either higher or lower depending on your liking. Again, just make sure the tails are even.

Now wrap the centerpiece around the center of the bow over the velcro. Make sure the velcro and centerpiece hooks together on the backside of the bow.

Now it’s time to place your embellishment. With the good front side of your bow facing up, place the rhinestone circle in the center of the bow like this - or you can place it anywhere else on the bow you’d like.

Once you’ve added your embellishment, flip your bow over to the back side and attach your clip to the center of the bow like so. Make sure you push hard to adhere the clip to the bow.

Fun feature: the velcro clip can be removed and flipped around so you can wear it on either side of your head.

And there you have it! You've crafted your very own lacy, oh lacy bow!

  • To start, open up the black swan bow contents and lay out all of the pieces.

You should have 3 pieces of black velvet ribbon, 1 black velvet centerpiece, 8 velcro circles, 1 sheet of pearl embellishments, and 1 alligator clip.

Find the longer piece of black velvet ribbon and fold it in half to get a center crease line.

Now take the double sided tape and stick it in the center of the ribbon where the crease line is. Push down hard, then remove the other side’s backing. Fold one end of the ribbon in and stick it to the tape. But make sure to only use up half of the tape since you need the other half for the other side.

Repeat this step on the other side.

Once both sides are taped, find the small piece of black velvet fabric with velcro attached to its ends. Take that small piece and wrap it around the middle.

Make sure the velvet side is facing out with the velcro in the back. This piece should also be centered in the middle of your two loops.

Next, we’re going to attach the bow’s tails. Find the other two pieces of black velvet ribbon. These should be the same length. And then find your velcro circles.

Take one of the black velvet ribbon pieces and stick a scratchy-sided velcro dot onto the ribbon. Place the dot at the top of the ribbon and stick it to the side with the velvet.

Now take one of the soft-sided velcro dots and attach it to the scratchy-sided velcro dot secured on the tail. The pieces should come together with the velcro sides facing each other, and the sticky side facing out.

Once the velcro is attached, stick the tail on the backside of your loops, slightly off center. Press down hard to secure the tail to the loop.

Repeat this process for the other tail, making sure to attach the velcro dot to the velvet side of the ribbon.

The remaining 4 velcro circles are there as extras in case you need them.

Now that you’ve attached the tails, you can adjust their angle by unsticking the velcro and re-attaching the tail at the desired angle. I like to place mine like this.

It’s time to add the pearls. You can use as many pearls as you want and place them in whatever way you like. I like to place them all over the bow like this.

Make sure to press down hard so they stick.

Here are a few other examples of how you could apply the pearls.

Once you have your pearls placed to your liking, you are ready to add the clip.

Unpeel the backing from the clip and stick it to the center back of your bow like this. Make sure to press down hard to secure it to the fabric.

Fun feature: the velcro clip can be removed and flipped around so you can wear it on either side of your head.

And there you have it! You've crafted your very own black swan bow!

Below, you’ll find everything you need to tie each bow in this set.

  • To start, go ahead and open up the be mine bow contents and lay out all of the pieces.

You should have 3 pieces of red velvet ribbon, 1 red velvet centerpiece, 2 pieces of double sided tape, 1 heart-shaped embellishment, and 1 alligator clip.

Find the longest piece of red velvet ribbon and fold it in half to get a center crease line.

Now take the double sided tape and stick it in the center of the ribbon where the crease line is. Push down hard, then remove the other side’s backing.

Fold one end of the ribbon inward and stick it to the tape. But make sure to only use up half of the tape since you need the other half for the other side.

Repeat this with the other side of the ribbon.

Set that piece aside and grab one of the shorter pieces of ribbon.

Fold it in half to get a center crease line.

Now take the double sided tape and stick it in the center of the ribbon where the crease line is.

Fold one end of the ribbon inward and stick it to the tape. Remember to only use half of the tape. Repeat this with the other side of the ribbon.

Next, take both loops and place them on top of another. The seams should face each other and the larger loop should be on the bottom.

Take the remaining red velvet ribbon and fold it in half to get a crease line. Set it underneath the stacked loops to become the tails, like so.

Now take the stacked loops and the tail piece and scrunch them together.

When scrunching the tail piece, make sure the backside of the ribbon is not visible.

Holding the scrunched pieces together in one hand, find the red velvet centerpiece. Flip the bow over to its backside. Wrap the centerpiece around the bow with the velvet side facing out. Make sure to attach the velcro in the back of the bow to ensure it’s not visible.

Flip the bow over to the front side. Here, you can start fluffing up the loops of the bow so that it looks nice and full.

It’s time to attach your heart shaped gem. There are many ways you can attach the gem, but I like to put it right in the middle like so.

Make sure you push the gem tightly against the ribbon to secure it.

Flip your bow over to the backside, and find your clip. Unpeel the backing from the clip and stick it to the center back of your bow like this. Make sure to press down hard to secure it to the fabric.

Fun feature: the velcro clip can be removed and flipped around so you can wear it on either side of your head.

If you need to adjust the bow for any reason, you can remove the centerpiece using the velcro.

And there you have it! You've crafted your very own be mine bow!

  • To start, go ahead and open up the picnic date bow contents and lay the pieces out on your surface.

You should have 3 pieces of gingham ribbon, 1 gingham centerpiece, 3 pieces of double sided tape, 1 red embellishment, and 1 alligator clip.

Start with the longest piece and fold it in half to create a slight crease line in the middle. Make sure to fold it gently to avoid tearing the ribbon.

Once you’ve made that crease line, take the double sided piece of tape and apply it like this over the line. Push down hard and remove the tape’s backing.

Fold one end of the ribbon in and stick it to the tape. But make sure to only use up half of the tape since you need the other half for the other side.

Repeat this step, folding the other side of the ribbon in.

Put that piece aside and grab the next longest piece of ribbon. Repeat those steps of making the crease line, applying the tape and folding in both sides of the ribbon.

Set that piece aside, and then you’ll do the same thing with the smallest piece of ribbon.

Once you’ve folded all the pieces of ribbon, they should look like this.

Now, flip over all of the pieces so that the seam is in the back.

Stack each piece on top of each other from largest to smallest. The pieces should be offset with the smallest piece on top, like so.

Now take the stacked pieces and scrunch them together.

Holding the scrunched pieces together with one hand, grab the decorative centerpiece.

Wrap the centerpiece around the ribbons like so. Make sure the velcro is secured in the back so you don't see it.

Now it’s time to add our embellishment. I like to place it vertically like so, but you can place it horizontally as well.

Make sure to press firmly when attaching your embellishment.

The last step is to add the clip to your bow. Press firmly to secure it to the bow.

Fun feature: the velcro clip can be removed and flipped around so you can wear it on either side of your head.

And there you have it! You've crafted your very own picnic date bow!

  • To start, go ahead and open up the twin flames bow contents and lay out all of the pieces.

You should have 2 pieces of velvet ribbon and 2 alligator clips.

Start by grabbing one of the pieces of ribbon and hold it in your hand like so. This back part should be about 4 inches longer than the piece closest to you.

You may need to adjust this distance depending on how large or small you make your loops.

Pinch the top to create a loop that is about an inch long. You can adjust this length depending how large or small you want your loops. Pinching it further down will create larger loops, whereas pinching it closer to the top will create smaller loops.

Now, hold the ribbon with your pointer finger, middle finger and thumb. Take the longer side of the ribbon and wrap it around your fingers, like so. You can keep it fairly loose.

After wrapping it all the way around, twist the piece of ribbon towards you. Then while still pinching the ribbon with your middle finger, move your pointer finger to the inside of the loop and pinch the twisted piece.

Pinching both loops with each hand, pull the loops away from each other at the same time to tighten the knot.

You can slightly even out the size of loops by pulling on the loops or the tails.

If the tails are not an equal length, try adjusting the amount of excess fabric when first pinching the bow.

If you want the loops to be a different size all together, try pinching lower or higher on the fabric when first determining loop length.

Repeat this whole process for the other velvet ribbon.

Once you’ve gotten each bow to your liking, it’s time to add the clips.

Flip each bow over to the back side and press the clip down firmly to secure it to the bow.

Fun feature: the velcro clip can be removed and flipped around so you can wear it on either side of your head.

And there you have it! You've crafted your very own twin flames bows!

Spring Fling Tutorials

Below, you’ll find everything you need to tie each bow in this set.

  • To start, go ahead and open up the butterfly garden bow contents and lay out all the pieces.

You should have 3 pieces of purple ribbon, 1 purple centerpiece, 1 piece of velcro, 2 pieces of double sided tape, 1 embellishment, and 1 alligator clip.

The two short pieces will be folded and stacked on top of each other. The longer piece will be used as the tails.

Find one of the shorter pieces of ribbon and fold it in half to get a center crease line. Make sure to fold it gently so as to not rip the ribbon.

Now take the double sided tape and stick it in the center of the ribbon where the crease line is. Push down hard, then remove the other side’s backing. Fold one end of the ribbon inward and stick it to the tape. But make sure to only use up half of the tape since you need the other half for the other side.

Repeat this with the other side.

Find the other shorter piece and repeat those steps of finding the center crease, applying the tape, and folding in both sides of the ribbon.

Next, take both loops and stack them on top of each other. The seams should face each other.

    Scrunch the loops together.

Holding the scrunched up loops with one hand, grab the longer piece of purple fabric and find the center. It‘s okay if it’s not the exact center since you can adjust the tail lengths later.

Place the center of that ribbon underneath the stacked ribbon and scrunch it up against the loops.

Holding the bow together with one hand, grab the velcro.

Place the velcro hard side down, and wrap it around the bow to secure it.

Here is where you can fluff the bow up to your liking.

You’re going to add the purple centerpiece next, but first, decide which side of your bow looks the best. This will be your front side.

Now, hold the bow with the back side facing you. Place the bottom of your centerpiece in the middle of the velcro, like so. Wrap it all the way around the bow so that the centerpiece connects in the back of the bow. (use visual callouts for this)

Next, lay your bow down so the good front side is facing up, and find your embellishment. You can place the embellishment anyway you like, but I like to place mine vertically like this. Make sure to press down hard to secure it to the ribbon.

The last step is adding the clip. Flip the bow over to the backside and stick on the clip. Make sure to press down hard to secure it.

Fun feature: the velcro clip can be removed and flipped around so you can wear it on either side of your head.

And there you have it! You've crafted your very own butterfly garden bow!

  • To start, go ahead and open up the gemini baby bow contents and lay the pieces out on your surface.

You should have 2 pieces of floral ribbon and 2 alligator clips.

Start by grabbing one of the pieces of ribbon and hold it in your hand like so. This back piece should be about 4 inches longer than the piece closest to you.

Then while still pinching the ribbon with your middle finger, move your pointer finger to the inside of the loop and grab the piece.

Repeat this whole process for the other floral ribbon.

You've crafted your very own gemini baby bows!

  • To start, open up the matcha bow contents and lay out all of the pieces.

You should have one long green satin ribbon, 10 flower embellishments, and one alligator clip.

To start, make an L with your left hand, palm facing away from you. Pick up the ribbon and hold it with your left hand pinky, ring, and middle fingers like so. There should be about 5 inches of fabric at the end.

Next you are going to wrap the ribbon over your thumb and behind your index finger like so.

It’s time to attach your flower shaped gems. There are many ways you can arrange these, but I like to place them at the bottom of the tails like so.

You can put the flowers anywhere and use as many, or as few, as you’d like.

Just make sure to push the gem firmly against the ribbon to secure it.

    Now grab your alligator clip.

Peel the backing off the adhesive and add the clip to the backside of your bow. Make sure you push hard to secure the clip.

Fun feature: the velcro clip is attached using velcro so it can be removed and flipped around letting you wear it on either side of your head.

And there you have it! You've crafted your very own matcha bow!
